The survey results are published and highlight many areas that can improve the lifestyle of residents and visitors, some are an easy fix and some long term projects. See the survey summary on the home page
This survey has highlighted concerns such as lack of a playground for young families, what to do with the corner derelict building next to the Memorial Hall, traffic, parking, mobile/broadband connectivity amongst others.
To address these issues we need funding and we are looking to form a Parkend Community Benefit Scheme; a community share option which encourages people to get involved and support the projects financially and with their time and skills. The aim is to improve the visual impact of the village, invest in infrastructure and assets for the benefit of the village.
People can choose to buy shares (which may be tax deductible)and be part of making Parkend an even better place to live. Each person would only have one vote regardless of how many shares they bought.
More details are on the attached information sheet but we welcome any other suggestions that are not listed.
We would love to hear from people who think this is a good idea and are interested in:
1. Being involved with the scheme
2. Buying shares
3. Being part of the different project teams
Many thanks for reading this and we look forward to hearing from you.
