We sadly share this message from Mandy and offer our condolences to the whole family at this difficult time.
Esme Gwynne of Woodland Rise, Parkend.
It is with great sadness that I share the loss of my much loved mum, Esme Gwynne, who passed away peacefully on Saturday 8 May 2021 at Cheltenham General Hospital following a very short illness.
Mum lived in Parkend her whole life and I believe she probably knew everyone in the village. She was an extremely caring person with a huge personality. She loved the local cricket matches, evenings in The Fountain and getting to know everyone that came to live in, or who were even just passing through, the village. Mum loved her home and her baking and to her, family was everything. She loved me beyond measure and her grandchildren even more so.
A private family funeral (due to the current coronavirus restrictions on venue numbers) will take place on Friday 28 May.
The cortege will leave Woodland Rise at 12.00 noon and travel through the village, past the chapel and The Fountain on its way to St Paul’s church. If you would like to pay your respects to mum on her final journey along this route, please remember to practise social distancing to keep yourself and others safe and well.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has messaged or sent cards to my family or me at this time, with such kind words. It means a lot to know how much people cared for mum xx
